God Story – Today He Had to See Me

I was driving up from Orlando Florida and worshiping in the car to a worship CD. The presence of God was so rich and strong. The Lord spoke and said, “Turn off at the next Rest Area.” In the distance I saw the exit sign to the rest area.  I exited off and parked in one of the spaces in front of where the restroom buildings face.  I was so excited, thinking God was going to have me get out of my car and wave my hand and all of people there would fall out under the power of God.  God had a different idea. He then said, “Get out of your car and get on your knees and pray”. I suddenly went from feeling the presence of God to sweating through the pores of my skin. I thought, “Surely not”.  He then said it again, “Get out of your car and get on your knees and pray”.
I got out of the car amongst all of the people and quickly looked around to find a space of when no one was coming.  I quickly knelt down and said, “Thank you Lord, I  love you”, then jump back in the car before anyone could see me. Then God said, “No, you get back out there and pray with me”.  My skin crawled with humiliation. As my pride was burning to death, I got out of my car and knelt down in front of it on the sidewalk and raised my hands to heaven and looked up into the sky. Suddenly, as the heavens themselves opened up and I could see Jesus in the heavens praying and speaking to me things to say or pray in the earth. The whole situation felt as though it was what Stephen saw when he was being stoned. My mind didn’t even think of the people walking by me. I was totally consumed by the presence of God. When that happens,  people’s opinion no longer matter. After Jesus had stopped speaking, the heavens closed up and I was suddenly back in the real world.  As I got up, I didn’t care what the people thought or how they looked at me. My face was covered in tears from the joy of being able to see the Lord.  I sat back down in my car and closed the door and started crying from joy and agony wanting to be at that place the Lord was dwelling.  After I calmed down, I started to asked myself, “I wonder why Jesus told me to stop off here and pray at this rest area and time”.  He suddenly said to me, “Look to your left”.  I gazed to my left and there, sat an old man in an old car staring at me with tears in his eyes, and a half smile on his face. His face looked like it was almost glowing.  I realized I was staring, and quickly turned and looked straight ahead. I ask the Lord, “What is that about Lord”?  He said, “Today he had to see Me, for tomorrow He dies”.  I suddenly knew why God had me stop off at the “Rest Area” at that appointed time and date. Never under estimate what God has you do, you just might be saving a soul.

How awesome and humbling that God chooses to partner with us. He IS Love.
-How good to be in that place of obedience – I’m still working on it.

Wow!! “Obedience is better then sacrifice”, awesome!! That really brings it home to me that there is a bigger picture that we often miss daily, that we are here for a purpose, and that God is an all knowing, all seeing God! Hearing those stories are very humbling and ignite a fire inside me for God to use this willing vessal! Thank you very much for sharing that!
