Malachi 3:8-12 says “Will a man rob God?Yet you have robbed Me!But you say,’In what way have we robbed You?’In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse,For you have robbed Me,Even this whole nation. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,That there may be food in My house,And try Me now in this,”Says the Lord of hosts,”If I will not open for you the windows of heavenAnd pour out for you such blessingThat there will not be room enough to receive it.
11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”Says the Lord of hosts; 12 And all nations will call you blessed,For you will be a delightful land,”Says the Lord of hosts.
In this scripture lies obvious spiritual meaning that God wants us to understand, so that we can receive the blessings that He has stored up for us. First, is that giving has the power to open or close the windows of heaven. The enemy, for years has built offenses and excuses in the minds of man concerning giving that dams up the flow of God’s blessing in mans life. Nevertheless, if man believed and obeyed this scripture without offense, it would cause an outbreak of blessings that would destroy Satan’s stronghold and set him free from the prison of poverty. This scripture basically shows us that tithes and offerings are a very important part of our relationship with God and our relationship with the person or storehouse that we are connected too. (Meaning of “storehouse” – A literal house, place or person) God was not warning his people in this scripture because he wanted to control or offend them. He warned them of their mentality of giving because He wanted to bless them. Don’t listen to the old lies of the enemy concerning giving. Listen to God’s word. For God always wants to bless and not curse. Find the place or leader that God has connected you too and represents the voice of the Lord in your life and give your tithes and offerings. You will be amazed at the breakthrough that will come in your life! If you do not know where or who it is that you are to be connected with or even to give to, then ask the Holy Spirit. He will show you!
