Scripture of the Day

Isaiah 14:14-15 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol; To the lowest depths of the Pit.

When you realize you can’t have what you want, you awaken to your real need…. Jesus. Even when you get what you want, you still won’t be satisfied, because God satisfies all our needs. Selfishness is a form of pride. One of the destructions of selfishness is that it causes spiritual separation, delusion, and awareness from the presence of God. Selfishness slowly can lead man down the beaten path of darkness, manipulation, and depression. This only leads to destruction. Fight to keep your mind on God.

I believe this also ties into a false sense of self. Which is seeing ourselves out of the light of the Father and in the darkness of selfish desire. May Christ truly show us apart from him we can do NOTHING.
