Scripture of the Day

Matthew 25:7-9 “All the bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps.  Then the five foolish ones asked the others, ‘Please give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out.’ But the others replied, ‘We don’t have enough for all of us.  Go to a shop and buy some for yourselves.’”  In this parable, Jesus says that when the foolish virgins arrived and asked the Lord to let them in, he replied, “Believe me, I don’t know you.” Why didn’t he tell them that they weren’t prepared instead of saying that he didn’t know them?  Could it be because the wise virgins may have made their own oil in preparation for the bridegroom’s arrival?  The foolish virgins ran out and bought oil that was produced by someone else.  If Jesus came today, would you be ready? Would he know you?
