True Power Has A Mind of Its Own To Give Life

Luke 8:42-48

But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. 43 Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, 44 came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.

And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?”

When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?'”

But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” 47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.

48 And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

There are many things that we can learn from these scriptures. There is one area I would like to point out. The woman with the issue of blood was not prayed for by Jesus, neither did anyone lay hands her. This obviously shows that the true power of God has a mind of its own. When the woman touched Jesus’ garment, the “Power” that rested on and within Him, decided on its own will to touch and heal her. This truly explains what Jesus said about how He could nothing of Himself except what He saw the Father doing. Jesus was governed by a power (Spirit) that had its own will. Jesus came not to do His will, which is human power, but the will of the Father (Spirit). While Jesus was being thronged by the people the “Spirit” or “Power” that governed Jesus was watching the woman struggle through the crowd to touch the hem of His garment. When the Spirit saw her faith, He had compassion on her and touched her without any of Jesus’ help or cooperation. After Jesus found who touched Him, He then spoke what the (Father or Spirit) and recognized in the beginning – “Your faith has made you well.” Jesus did not come to reveal Himself, but to reveal the Father (Spirit). The true living power of God comes from Jesus. The all power and authority that lives forever abides in Jesus Christ. Today, fight through the crowded thoughts of your mind and touch Jesus and the power that lives forever will heal you.
