The Nature of Forgiveness

Luke 6:27-31, 35-36 says, “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back., And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.

35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

Walking in the nature of forgiveness is one of the powers that Jesus had while walking on the earth with man. The enemy accused Jesus daily, cursing, or trying to trick Him in order to see Him killed. Daily, Jesus took up that cross of death that would come upon Him and forgive while giving His power out to the very ones that cursed Him. Daily the enemy would strike Him on the cheek and Jesus would turn and forgive. He performed miracles for the very ones that cried out, “Crucify Him”! Then one day, while stripped naked, hanging on a cross in unbearable pain, bleeding to death and hearing the curses of His people, He turned one more time and said, “Father forgive them, they do not know what do.” That day was the day of Power. That day he fulfilled the scripture above. Humanity was saved by His “Forgiveness.” Jesus’ nature is the spirit of forgiveness. Today, forgive, and you will save a soul and yourself from darkness. Your nature will transform into the Most High.
