1 Sam 15:24-29 – Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord.”
But Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”
And as Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore. 28 So Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you. 29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man, that He should relent.”
In the beginning man’s design was to listen and obey the voice of God. If he heeded the “Voice” he would be fruitful, take dominion, and have full authority with heaven and upon the earth, causing him to live a life of rest and peace. Nevertheless, when man obeyed another voice, it separated him from the Kingdom God (his home) and from the awesome power that was given to live a supernatural life far above all principalities and powers, and rulers of darkness. Because of man’s disobedience, it forced separation from the true life of God, to living the life of the enemy – tormented, groveling for food, and roaming the earth as a roaring lion seeking what and who he may devour. This written example is what prophetically happen with Saul. His fear of man and disobedience to the voice of God, tore the mantle of power off his life, and separated him from the fullness of the God given Kingdom, then later to be tormented by the enemy, roaming the earth, seeking who he could devour, even to the point of trying to kill God’s anointed.
Today, we don’t have to cooperate with the voice of the enemy. It only leaves man wanting and taking on the life of Satan – “Tormented”. We now have Jesus! Listen to God and cooperate with Him. It will release life to your soul and set you in a high place of authority and peace that is beyond your understanding. Noncooperation with the enemies voice is a much a moral obligation as cooperating with God.
