Born In Darkness

John 9:1-7 9 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

There are many times, man questions himself or questions why other people walk in darkness. They will even say, “Well, he or she has been like that since the day they were born,” assuming that person will never change, because maybe it is some sort of generational curse, sin, or demonic spirit that is attached to that person’s family or life. Yet, in this scripture we can see that God has a completely different mentality. He sees the situation as man being born for the glory of God.  With Jesus having this type of mentality, there was always hope for all men, no matter their situation. Without hope, man remains blind, and walking in darkness. Having hope for all as Jesus did, kept Him open to allow the Spirit of God to flow through Him no matter the situation that His father placed him in. Hope for all, caused Jesus to always be open and available for power and love to flow out of Him at any time. With “Hope”, all men have an opportunity to be healed and walk with true vision for his life.  When hope is present man eyes are open and they no longer sentenced to darkness because his “Light” has come into his life.

Today, don’t assume the way you are is because of something you did wrong or it’s because your family sinned at one point. That will never guide you to hope and healing.  All has fallen short of the glory of God. You were born to encounter God and to be reborn for the glory of God. Today you were born to be healed, have vision for your life, and walk with Jesus. This day was born for you to see God as He is. Meet Jesus today.
