Luke 5:4-6 says, When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” says, 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.
Luke 5:8
When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”
There are times in our lives when we have tried to make great ideas happen, thinking that we would succeed but failed, walking away empty handed and discouraged. When this type of failure hits our soul, it builds up a stronghold of hopelessness and rejection to any type of hope or idea that comes our way again. This is what we are seeing in Peter’s first response toward the Lord. Nevertheless in spite of the sense of hopelessness, he tried the same idea again, except this time he had the Lord in his boat. Peter then brought in the abundance he had always envisioned in his mind. Peter was blessed with not only fish, but he could feel the energy of joy, and kindness all over him and in the boat. This caused him to realize what kind of attitude he was in toward Jesus when He had asked him to launch out do the same thing he had done before. The kindness in the air caused Peter to bow his heart toward the Lord in repent. When the Lord is in your boat, the same dreams that failed before becomes a beautiful reality. It then delivers you from the strongholds of self-rejection and disappointment. If you hear the Lord say to you, “Try your idea again”, that only means he is going to be in the boat with you this time. Then get ready! Here comes your deliverance and prosperity! Don’t let attitudes of disappoint cause you to miss your appointment with Him:)
