Psalms 95:7-11 says, Today, if you will hear His voice: “Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, As in the day of trial in the wilderness, 9 When your fathers tested Me; They tried Me, though they saw My work. For forty years I was grieved with that generation,And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.’ So I swore in My wrath,’They shall not enter My rest.'”
The life of the children of Israel in the wilderness were an example for our sake to teach us how to walk with God and how to enter into rest with God and His inheritance that He left for us. Hearing God’s voice is very important, yet if we harden (to be cruel,tough, stiff) our hearts toward what He is telling us, it only causes grief and judgement to enter in our lives. This then can keep us out of that heavenly peace and rest that He prepared for our souls. It is very important to hear God, but more important to walk with Him wherever He wants to take us. Take a leap of Faith and walk with Him today, and you will see and feel the hardness of this world start to lift off your heart and life. You will not be disappointed. He loves us!
