Luke 7:11-16 says, Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd. And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.
Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen up among us”; and, “God has visited His people. Here, Jesus is fulfilling that which was written in Psalms 16:10-11
For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
These scripture show how God will not allow His Son or even one of His sons soul to be left in darkness. It also shows how much compassion He has on the dead. It says in Romans 4:17 that God gives life to the dead and calls those things that are not, as though they were. There are many women and men who are emotionally and spiritually dead and fill as though they are being carried to the place of “forgetfulness.” But Jesus sees the situation completely different. In heaven’s mentality, spiritual or physical death is like a magnet that draws life from God’s bosom to see that which was dead, alive and raised in a hope and joy that is far above any thing a we could ask or think. Let Him touch the box your heart is being carried in, and watch the outcome! You will be amazed.
