Scripture for the Day

Romans 8:24-25 “For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one also hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.”

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines ‘hope’ as 1) to cherish a desire with anticipation 2) to desire with expectation of obtainment 3) to expect with confidence. Hope is a verb. It requires ‘action’. All of us have been disappointed at some point in our lives. We should never let our disappointments cause us to fear having our ‘hopes’ up again. Many times we find it easier to not ‘hope’ in God’s promises and purpose in our lives because we tell ourselves that if we don’t hope, we won’t be disappointed. This is not true. We are still disappointed down deep in our hearts. Have courage to hope for the things that you haven’t seen materialize yet in your life. Hope takes courage and faith. Today put all of your hope in Him! He will not disappoint you.
