Scripture for the Day

Joshua 3:15-16 Those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest), 16 that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam,

There are events and trials that we face in our lives that seem impossible to walk through. Nevertheless, God has called us to put our trust in Him and put our feet forward in these troubled waters and walk through it. I can’t imagine what the mind of the Priests was thinking when they came up to the river! They had been told to step into the the Jordan (meaning death) and it would be cut off. They had never been this way before. When things arise that we have never walked through before, the mind immediately will manifest fear and doubt. They had to put their faith in God’s words and not in themselves or what they had been taught. That is the same statement that God says today – “Step into your trials and go through to the other side. Just as Jesus had to go through the deathly cross by faith, so should we. This type of faith causes death to be cut off not only in your mind but in your life. Trust God even unto death. Watch God move when you can’t.
