Scripture for the Day

Matt 27:45-46 says, Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

In this small jewel of a scripture lies the proof of when Jesus had taken on all of man’s sins. He starts to feel the sin of fear and doubt creep in upon His mind and separate Him from the awareness of His Father. This was the original sin that separated man’s mind from God within the Garden. Jesus starts to doubt that His Father is still with Him. But God never left, He was right there all the time. This is the lie or sin that separated man from God for years. Here is the innocent lamb without any evil within Himself taking on all of the sin that man has had for thousands of years so that we can become, again, aware that God is standing right next to us today.
