John 14:2 says, “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
In this scripture Jesus understands that the carnal mind automatically doubts there is a supernatural place that man can dwell. Jesus humbly confronts it by saying, “If it were not so, I would have told you.” He understood man’s mind had been in darkness and unbelief so long that it had become his very nature. Man’s first love had turned from light to darkness. While man was in darkness Jesus said, “I am going to prepare a place for you.” He basically was saying, “I understand that you do not believe, but I am going to do it for you anyway because I love you and I want you to be free.” Jesus gave his life to open the door even while man was standing in God’s face doubting that this whole thing called “heaven” was real. It doesn’t matter what state of mind man is in, he has free access to heaven through Christ. Go to the place prepared even when you are doubting! Jesus understands!
